Ibuprofen Side Effects

Ibuprofen belongs to NSAID group of medicines, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which is used to relieve pain from fever or inflammation. It can be used in different forms, such as; capsules, chewable tablets, drops, and injection. Among the main side effects; it can cause are upset stomach, constipation; headache; diarrhea; dizziness; heartburn; nausea. However it is important to mention that side effects can affect some people, but at some others it may have minor or no effect at all.
Severe side effects include ulcer, and worsen kidney function. Due to the group it belongs ( NSAID), people who are allergic to Aspirin, or other medicines of the above mentioned group should be more cautious when using ibuprofen.
It can also be harmful for elderly people who suffer from arthritis, for the heart and other vital organs of the body.
Below are listed some of the side effect this pain killer might cause, for this reason, it is strongly recommended that the lowest effective dose should be consumed.

  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • headache
  • increased blood pressure
  • upset stomach
  • indigestion
  • abdominal pain
  • ear noise
