Ambien ( Zolpidem)

Ambien is the other name for the Zolpidem drug.  It is used to treat insomnia problems and sometimes even brain disorders.  There are two releases, the immediate one can make you fall asleep immediately whereas the extended is made up of two layers, the first one can put you to sleep immediately and dissolves quickly, whereas the other one that dissolves slowly, can help you stay sleeping. Usually it is taken only at nights before you sleep, but it can hinder your way of thinking, as in the morning when you wake up you may still feel sleepy. For this reason it is highly suggested not to drive or do any other activity that requires your full attention and alert, if you experience such symptoms.

Ambien is one of the medicines that can cause severe allergic reaction. Allergy signs may include ; hives, swelling of face, lips or throat or even breathing difficulties.

Ambien is not assumed for long term use. Do not use more than 4- 5 weeks unless prescribed by a doctor. This drug is not intended to cure. After using it, even for e long period, insomnia problems may appear again. So it is highly recommend talking to a doctor before using it, and even if intended to withdraw from it.

People who are sensitive to lactose should be cautious as Ambien contains lactose.

  • Appetite change
  • Joint pain
  • Ear noises
  • heartburn

  • Swelling of mouth, face lips, hands, legs
  • Hallucination
  • Mental changes
  • Unusual thinking
  • Depression
  • Dizziness
  • Memory problems
  • Vision problems
